Joining the CMB Program

 Typical Admission Criteria:

Undergraduate GPA 3.0 or above.

Required undergraduate coursework:

  • 2 semesters: General Biology/Microbiology, 100/200 level
  • 2 semesters: Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, 300/400 level
  • 2 semesters: General Chemistry
  • 2 semesters: Organic Chemistry
  • 2 semesters: Physics
  • 1 semester: Calculus or Statistics

  2. Please request that a copy of your official transcripts be sent to:

  3. The General GRE is optional and our Institution Code is 4867.
  4. Most applicants whose native language is not English are required to take an English Language Proficiency test.     • 3 letters of recommendation
    • CV
    • Statement of objectives
    • Copy of GRE scores - optional
    • Copy of transcript(s) Unofficial is adequate, but official must be sent to Graduate Admissions before enrollment.
  6. MS deadlines: March 15 for Fall Semester, September 15 for Spring Semester
    PhD deadline: December 15 for Fall Semester.  No Spring Admission
